It's in our Surrender

What is this deep desire in us to control? We want to control our circumstances, our spouse, children, problems, needs, health, wealth and everything else in our lives.

When I typed in wealth my spell checked changed the word to weather. Yes, I suppose we would like to control the weather if we could. 😃

But what we need to realize is we don't have control over any of these thing any more than we do the weather. Oh, we think we do! If I hold it just a little bit tighter, yell a little louder, work a little harder, maybe things will change.

Have you tried surrender? Have you tried giving it to God, laying it at His feet and letting go?

Jesus spoke these words for us in the book of Matthew...

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” Matthew 11:28-30

Most of the time, what causes unrest and anxiety in our hearts and lives is control or lack thereof. We only have one job and that is to surrender, lay it at His feet and then we can rest in Him. He works best in our surrender.

So whatever you are doing today, steal away a few minutes with Him and give it to God in complete surrender, no strings attached. Leave it there and see what God does over time. Don't pick it back up, not even a piece. Everytime you start to pick it up, hand it back. Remember who's in control, ultimately! He's got you and in His great love and mercy He will work on your behalf. Just wait and see what God can do.

Have a great day! ❤️

God woke me up early this morning with this and I knew I had to share it.
Was this for you?
