"It's just the wind."
As we were Bible Journaling last night God's Spirit continued to speak to my soul, "It's just the wind."
As a child I remember hearing the sound of the the wind howling outside when a storm was coming. It would sometimes be such an eerie sound. I thought it was an animal howling or moaning out in pain. Those sounds are still very vivid to me. I would lie in bed and hear the sound and dream up all of these crazy ideas of what it was and when fear seemed to almost overtake me I would cry out for a parent and ask, "What is that?" The reply would be,"It's just the wind, rest child, everything is okay."
God is not troubled by the wind, waves and storms. He speaks to them and they instantly calm. When my heart and soul is troubled and begins to tremble by what looks likes an overwhelming, insurmountable problem or trial in my life, and I begin to imagine the worst, and to tremble, and when fear begins to creep in and it appears that it will consume me, I cry out to God and He speaks, "It's just the wind." "Be still, and know that I am God." "I've got you in the palm of my hand." " You are not alone." " I will never leave you or forsake you." "Rest in me."
If your soul and mind is doubting, questioning and you feel fear creeping in and trying to take root, don't panic my friend. Call out to Him today and listen to the voice of the God who speaks to the wind and calms it in an instance. "It's just the wind."
Mark 4:39
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (NIV)
