My Piece of the Painting
Back in May of 2019 I went to Kansas City to a Christian Business Conference put on by Jennifer Allwood. I was totally like a fish out of water, scared and not knowing anyone, feeling very vulnerable. It was a great conference and God's presence was there in an amazing way.
This canvas was placed where anyone who wanted could add something to it. At the end of the conference it was auctioned off for charity. I added the wave. I didnt feel I did a great job painting the wave, and at the time I thought maybe I had messed the painting up. Then the artist came back after everyone had finished, and made it all look so beautiful. It reminded me of God. Our piece of the picture sometimes feels very insignificant and sometimes we feel like we are messing it up, not doing it right, not making a difference. But God takes all of our humble efforts and puts together something beautiful. You are needed where you are. God has a place for you that only can be filled by you. Your piece of the picture is important!
As we each left our mark on this painting I realized the importance of leaving our mark in this world. Don't hide the unique gift that God has given you. You are a part of the painting. Your part is important and needed.
As you go out to tackle this day, remember this, Someone needs your smile, your encouragement, your presence. They need the unique you that God has created you to be. Make it a great day!
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.1 Corinthians 15:58
Additional thought....I now have found out there were other ladies who where at that conference that I didn't even know until recently. They left their mark on this painting right beside mine. Now our paths have crossed, after three years and they have recently been an encouragement to me. How cool is that! Hmmm think God might have know all along? π
